Asus 7" Tablet Pros and Cons

#1 Post by Sky Aisling »

Happy Holidaze! :D

Does anyone have feedback on an Asus 7" tablet?
I friend wants to buy me one and I want to make sure that it runs open source coding and NOT M$OS.
I know nothing about tablets.
I tried out various tablets at a local store.
I like the Asus touch and feel the best.
Good points? Bad points? Configuration suggestions? Which OS? Ice Cream Sandwich or Jelly Bean? (no M$OS)

My use for the machine is simple.
I'm looking for email abilities and surfing the web for information.
I don't download music or movies.
Device must be small and lightweight but not as small as a smartphone.
I'll use it primarily in the car.

Can I put Puppy on an Adroid?

Iknow nothing but why not read this compare
they make with an older ASUS with similar name.

It is intel so maybe it can load Puppy
but I don't trust that you get same
battery length due to the special proprietary codes
needed for to send the CPU to sleep when it is not needed.

The computer is on but the CPU or part of it is on sleep.

If that tablet have that feature then most likely
the linux kernel don't know what to do.

But I know nothing why not use google
and look for if Dubuntu or Linuxmint
or Debian has been loaded then most likely
Pully will too?
I use Google Search on Puppy Forum
not an ideal solution though
