My Chemo therapy went better than I expected.

#1 Post by nooby »

Now it was only the first dose out of very many in a serious
that will last for some three months and then they evaluate. *

what I refer to is that the nausea that I where sure of
or expect as a sure think still has not come now some 12 hours later
and I will take the second dose now today within some 6 hours
so maybe later tonight it will knock me out.

I don't they can afford to fake using salt water. May be against law
so maybe my body is a slow responder. should have responded
within some 3 to 5 hours if I read the info text right.

Unpredictable as they told me. I hate to not have any control
to not know what will happen to my body.

Tuesday and Wednesday treatment days
and then 12 days of recovering and rest
and then

Tuesday and Wednesday treatment days
and it repeats with 12 days recovering and rest.

Even if it works it is only a kind of postponing the inevitable sure death
within two years with the therapy going on the whole time.

So no Holidays or Vacations longer than 12 days
unless one allow a break for Christmas and New year

And Easter later next year so I can visit family to say good bye.

Looks like you're far from family right now. Or maybe you meant 'family' to be brothers/sisters?

Hoping that the treatment result will be the best for you.

Thanks Raffy. Yes parents and Grand such dies very early.

Mom and Dad 1986 so that is closer in time.
By Family I refer to "extended" like suggested.
Bothers and Sisters and Cousins but not further afar :)

I may have to distant Cousins in USA. I trust them
would be very surprised if I showed up to say good bye.

Second round today and apart from feeling a bit warm
and a bit dizzy it feels okay. No apparent nausea.

Now they let my body reset for 12 days and they give me
round 3 and 4 next fortnight. I keep in touch.

It`d good to hear that it`s not hitting you all that hard. I sincerely hope it stays that way.

They`ve been at this for a long time now and have the treatments optimized.
Like many illnesses the recovery rate is really good these days.

Keep us informed and we`ll keep you in mind, in our prayers, and in our hearts... Terry B.

Thanks to all of you!

Those side effects that are obvious are skin dryness
the lips get dry and hurt a bit and the fungi on tongue
seems to come back too but all that are expected.

What I did not expect is the "gag2 reflex when I eat
first time in the morning. I need to learn to not take any pills
right in morning because I throw them up most likely.

The puke thing seems unrelated to the cytostatika chemo treatment.

I had it two time before the chemo so it could have to do with
the intestine being full and not able to get any more in???

Nooby, something I thought I'd share with you...

I never met my maternal grandfather (my mother's father). His name was Clifford Gleason Chester. I've heard nothing but good things about him, and I wish I'd been able to know him...

Grampa Cliff died five years before I was born, from complications of leukemia. He had volunteered for experimental treatments that completely wiped out the leukemia (he was in remission fairly quickly), but a yeast infection found him and (ew, gross) got into his brain... there wasn't much left by the time that was done with him :(

But the leukemia treatments that were experimental in 1980-81 (he died in '81) probably are routine now and helping lots of people with all sorts of different cancers.

I'd like to think that what Grampa Cliff went through helps you as well ;) I'm pretty sure he'd like to think that, as well, were he able to...

Tuesday and Wednesday Dec 3 and 4 will be next round.

I fear the worst because my body has become almost anorectic
in that I fail to eat even such that I loved before the Cancer.
I used to overeat and now I fail to eat at all. Crazy indeed.
and very dangerous I need as much energy as possible to survive.

So I report back about progress or negative effects about it
on Thursday or Friday in case you care.

I am atheist but I have found a friendly caring Pastor
and we will have a 45 minutes talk on Wednesday
so hope that will help me. AFAIK they have no need
to evangelize some code of honor they have signed up to follow
which is good for me as atheist. I hate when they evangelize
regardless if it is about Apple computers or Android or Jesus.

even atheists evangelize forcing me into logical reasoning
that only they can understand.

So I don't have any experience, I'm afraid. However, I did come across this cookbook recently - it goes through how to cook stuff that will naturally appeal to you more while on chemo. I suspect the hard part will be getting the energy to get into the book. However, I highly recommend it.

http://rebeccakatz.com/books/the-cancer ... g-Out house/ You can find on Amazon of course.

Although I don't need it for the purpose on the title, I liked the library copy so much I bought one - the food is just great and wholesome regardless.

Hope that helps .. :/

Nooby wrote a bit off rail but on rail in that it has to do
with my reactions to having cancer and being on Chemo

I don't like her church though. Very evangelical in a charismatic way.
Not on par with the worst examples out there but they have missionaries
all over the world.

But working as Pastor in a Hospital with dying patients
they have decided to be good listeners and to not evangelize
So i will visit her next week. I report on that too so you know
if God did save me or not :)

I'm flooding my own thread just to keep my "spirits" high :)

finally some small progress on my severe anorexia
I where an over eater before I got the cancer.

I found this junk food for kids. sausage

Those for grown ups are way to spicy
that is what people love about them
so I accept that :)

But this one for kids really hit home
with my anorexia finally something I manage to get down.

Embarrassing I know. Everybody love spicy food so why not me :)
I use the Micro oven for 30 seconds and that taste totally okay to me.
