alphaOS 12.1

Version 12.0 is based on Arch packages from 2013/10/12 with kernel 3.11.4, eudev 207, all the latest from Arch repositories including Firefox 24.0 and GTK+ 3.10. This is the first version that has Emendo text editor as standard. Emendo is a lightweight text editor with syntax highlighting support, made for this distribution to be fast with simple design and using GTK+ as toolkit.

Script makesfs, very useful for automatic converting of Arch packages to SFS module, is improved and now has AUR support. Also, included is new plugin for SpaceFM file manager which allows one click mounting/umounting of an iso image.

Downloaded iso and cooked on cd , cd booted fine, readme file says i can do frugal install like in puppy , copy alpha.sfs and other 3 files bla bla , grub4dos did not detect.
The readme file said its an alpha.sfs file but the cd got an "alpha_12.sb"file .
Maybe i should rename the file ?
Edit
I renamed the alpha.sb to alpha.sfs , no go , renamed initrfs.img to initrd.gz and that did the trick and booted ok BUT no wm .

Hi bignono1, readme is outdated

Grub4dos config now doesn't see frugal alphaos installation, but here you can see what to add manually to menu.lst http://alphaos.tuxfamily.org/forum/view ... =920#p1687 to make it bootable. I reported this to shinobar in Grub4dos thread - hope he will find time to fix that problem.

_I spent about 15 minutes answering to questions and comments today,

and now wanted to continue reading further

when NOTICED that my post together with 60 others in this thread was DELETED,

Only one way how would you call that - ADMIN ABUSER -

I've left this thread in the forum even though it has nothing to do with Puppy Linux. Whether by design or by accident, you seem to be willing to keep a running fight going in this thread, perhaps to keep it near the top of the Announcements section so that newcomers will see it. If you have something useful to say about alphaOS, please feel free to say it; if you keep trolling I will lock this thread.

If alphaOS is so well-designed and bug-free that you can spend all your waking hours posting in the Puppy Linux forum instead of making it better, maybe I should check it out.

Instead of changing subject why not simply answer to previous question:

"Why did you remove 60 posts from this thread?",

I started reading, some of those posts were funny, some were off topic

but why you had to delete them ALL.
