Ah, yes! They all say that. Catch 22. Some of the alternatives may be able to connect with Skype??? But far better to educate the 'family' and wean them off Wdoze? Perhaps they'll leave you the immense cash savings in their wills?

Should've listed this addendum separately but you got in first.

Not sure what alternatives may be able to connect with Skype, but even so, I'd never convince my family to switch to linux. Even my 2 linux buds in Canada use skype.

Yes, thanks to a link from Mavrothal, http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 594#800594, I updated bash this morning and will add it to X-slacko-2.2 which will be finished soon.

'T-shirts' abound here too. So, they like to leave moving pictures of themselves and their doings in the Hanford repository! Haven for illicit access. No wonder A-listers are finding their revealing pics all over the InterWeb/newspapers/magazines. Just can't tell some folks. Lawyers must be exasperated with their clients?

Hey, rg66, if it's not too much trouble (I'm not making a fuss this time, promise) -- could you put together a *.PET for the bash fix for X-Slacko 2.1?

If it is too much trouble, tell me to bug off and I will ;) :P

Sure, why not. It's the binary only, no docs, nls etc.. and as per other posts it stops frisbee wireless from functioning (wired still works though).

EDIT: Updated to bash-4.3.27 - frisbee is working again

right click > save link as

I don't use Frisbee... but I do use SNS. Will it break SNS?

Don't think so, I seem to remember someone saying it was frisbee only.

Not quite sure what you mean but the source and patches were downloaded from gnu.org and compiled in X-slacko with:

Code: Select all

I've been compiling a lot of slacko apps for slacko 6, starting on http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... &start=630, They should work on this slacko also. Just a heads up :)

Very minor issue: the screensaver cut in very quickly whilst waiting for the initial settings panel to wind itself up. Found the Flashplayer OK in PPM - would be nice if it were pre-loaded?

Right click on Desktop > Screen Saver Settings, time defaults to 15 min.

Flashplayer is installed in /usr/lib/mozilla/plugins, it's working here.

Edit: Booted into RAM and both issue checkout, maybe check your ISO md5sum
