I found this article very interesting.

I confess I kept saying "finally!" out loud while reading it. (But the long discussion that follows the article is also worth reading to get a more complete picture of pros and cons.)

I wonder if this will ever influence Puppy's package management?

Oh dear.
One of the best things about linux compared to Windows is that we have proper package repositories.
They're replicating the insanity of Windows where you have a couple of dozen different apps installed, all including their own different versions of every dependency, with all of these out of date.

Depends on how they will implement it.
It could also be said they decided to follow the Apple way of packaging..

The idea to use precompiled packages is not the one I support .

In the sense that Puppy is based on T2 that is based or kind of Rock Linux ,
it is enough for me to dl source and compile .

Apple never had one .
