I want to find the files needed for wireless so I can discover if any of them are missing or broken. I am reasonably certain some file(s) are missing.
This is a Slacko 5.5 frugal install on HDD booted from livecd. The specs for this laptop are here.
Thank you for your help.
Wireless not working in frugal Slacko 5.5
The thing is I can boot puppy pfix=ram and get a connection. Knowing that I can get a connection while booted in ram do you still think this is a conflict?
I compared slacko on another laptop of the same make. I did find files missing but I was to blurry eyed at the time to make notes. Now I can’t find the directories that had missing files.
I tried your code but it still doesn't connect.

Yes I know it works.rcrsn51 wrote:I just tested a frugal install of Slacko55 with an ath9k adapter and it worked fine.
I feel certain something about this frugal install is busted. But what that is I do not know.
I did see my AP listed in network neighborhood with iwlist wlan0 scan and it did show all nearby AP.
Code: Select all
# iwlist wlan0 scan
wlan0 Scan completed :
