Save Session provides persistence over reboots

One member on another thread has expressed his concerns of saved sessions.

The concern seems to be about subsystems added to the existing running Puppy distro by any user.

We've been users of persistence in Puppy for many years. It has worked for us on CD/DVD/SDcards/USB/HDD and other media.

BUT ...
  1. Is this a problem with disk sizes as they are?
  2. Does the save-session have some dramatic RAM impact? And if so,
    • what are the primary problems?
    • Are there other proven methods for persistence that needs reviews?
  3. Lastly, are there other persistent problems that exist which may be being overlooked? (either operational, documentation, design, ???)
Here to help

What is this "persistence" thing? :?

I've read, but I fail to comprehend. :(
