What is the difference between normal iso and retro iso ?

hi

I am new to puppy linux.
Checking the latest version here

http://distro.ibiblio.org/quirky/precise-5.7.1/

I see there are 2 isos

Code:

precise-5.7.1-retro.iso
precise-5.7.1.iso


what is the difference ?

Additionally to what is written above:

The Standard ISO is for computers with a PAE compatible processor while the Retro version runs with non-PAE compatible processors like Intel Celeron M.

If you're not sure what PAE is, there is a Wikipedia article:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Physical_Address_Extension

If you're not sure if your CPU is PAE compatible then you could try both ISO versions. The Standard first (because the non-PAE (Retro) runs on almost any computer).

If your CPU is not PAE compatible and you try to boot the Standard version, the Puppy loader tells you that the PAE feature is missing on your CPU and stops loading. In this case you have to use the Retro version.
