Thanks, added!

Plus small update, version 3.4:
- fixed extracting from .tar.lz/.tlz archives, which turned out to be compressed by lzip, not lzma (of course lzip needs to be installed, in order to handle them)
- new formats/extensions:
  • .lz (lzip)
  • .cpio.lz
  • .whl (A built-package format for Python)

Version 3.8

- added: LINKS.txt help file with weblinks to (un)archiving/(un)compressing/{en|de}crypting utilities used by UExtract (can be viewed by right-clicking on UExtract's pinboard icon)
- withdrawn: checking available space
- lots of internal rearrangements, optimalizations and fixes
- new formats/extensions:
  • .apk - Alpine Linux package (gunzip+tar)
  • .dat - Transport Neutral Encapsulation Format (tnef)
  • .djvu - DjVu Image (ddjvu+tiffsplit)
  • .pisi - Pardus Linux Package (unzip+unxz+tar)
  • .vc - Veracrypt Container (veracrypt)
___________

Version 3.9
- bugfix: unsquashfs exits with code 0 even if there's "No space left on device", therefore UExtract incorrectly reports successful extraction - a workaround has been applied

Version 3.10

- .debs can be also extracted using 'ar'
- removed 'seq' dependency
- bugfix: extraction of LUKS .ext{2|3|4} images didn't work sometimes
- in Fatdog right-click entries are installed to /etc now
- some other fixes and rearrangements

Note for Fatdog users:
If you have a previous version installed, uninstall it and issue the following command:

Code: Select all

find /root/.config/rox.sourceforge.net/SendTo -type l -name "UExtract" -delete
This will delete old entries from right-click menu, otherwise you'd get duplicates after installing the new version.

Hi SFR,

Many thanks for this invaluable utility which I believe should be included in all Pups OOTB.
If I may make one suggestion; that the version number be displayed on the
GUI or at least a link to a txt file containing the version number?
Regards ETP

That's not nice!!! (But it's funny!)

Again, not nice, but terribly funny!!!

I found it useful with the Raspberry pi 2
It opens up rpm packages for ARM processor.
