Sub_title: Using a live-cd to backup mounted drives, some files have a red line on their right

I'm using the live-cd of 4.3. to backup a hard drive which is mounted.

On the backup drive, some of the copied files have a vertical narrow red line on their right side, when seen in the detailed view.

The files can be read, seemingly without any errors.

I need to know if those lines indicate some sort of error.

I'll need to be done with this in an hour or so, so I appreciate your feedback a lot.

Thanks.

I think you're going to have to take a screen shot and post it here in this thread.

Sub_title: red | at far right..

Sounds like the standard rox for too much info for space available (longish file name and so on), but didn't realize it showed as such in detail view. Usually the | @ far right end just means there's more info than can be displayed with the current setting for the rox window.

A small screenie would clarify however.

thanks `foo, that's a wonderful reply. it looks exactly like the red line you included in your post. I don't quite understand what the consequence of 'too much info' is. Is the file still intact and readable and so on? In other words, is it just a cosmetic issue that rox wants me to know about, or is it some permanent error caused by 'too much info for space'?

A red line is rather dramatic like that. Razz I'm glad it doesn't sound like a problem.

If it is as foo says, it is just the display. The file itself is not affected.
