Does this issue effect Puppy Users?

Linux users cope with vampire mice, zombie hard drives
Linux kernel developer Sarah Sharp is searching for a solution to the problem posed by vampire mice, she said in a presentation at LinuxCon North America in New Orleans last week.

"I don't mean the little fuzzy, furry ones," Sharp said. "I mean the ones that suck the life out of your battery."

The kernel developers have had to essentially implement a whitelist policy,
Who wants to maintain that whitelist, if the mice you can buy change every month ?
It is actually a lottery to buy a mouse .

I had one nice one for 10€ but after a few days it became odd hopping due to it's frugal assembly of interiors .
Have already had to solder two mice
and to tighten contacts and plastic parts with a tong .

If the mouse works great, it is difficult to purchase that same one four weeks afterwards .
Even the usb-plugs don't work for other mice .

Polling has to occur to check if it moves again , probably less often per second .
And if the usb-port gets powered off , how to check if things start to live again ?
The plug then needs a battery to send a signal to the driver .

The whole USB is an unreliable circus to me .
USB as it is , is crap !
Pretty rich guys now , the inventors of the USB .
