If you are able to make a small (say 10gb?) linux partition on your drive formatted ext2 or ext3 ... you can boot from the usb key ... but have the savefile and sfs files stored on the (fast) hdd partition.

LHP 602 likes this config --- LHP 515F not so much.

Nice answers from GCM & Gobbi! When my savefile bloats out I simply cut a new one.

Having trouble getting at XP shares? I tried various things eg builtin LHP tools, YASIM, and slamming my face onto the keyboard repeatedly.

After much messing around I installed:
clarf_pnethood-0.66.pet
mountcifs-1.5.pet
and linked
/bin/smbmount > /bin/mount

at which point pnethood was able to mount shares.
hoorah.

you could probably skip installing mountcifs.pet

Subject description: GKrellM - GCU wget

GKrellM info says it requires GNU wget in order to view a webcam.

PPM shows that I have wget already installed but not GNU wget.

I tried to add http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/?cam=tsrobo1 and it doesn't respond when I choose Reread Source then Apply.

Do I need a different version of wget or ??

Thanks! David

Hi edoc ,

From my experience with GKrellM webcam plugin in LHP I can tell you this : I was never able to see any webcam that uses flash Exclamation

The only webcams seen were those sending mjpeg or jpeg... It is also important to set a low refresh rate ( to give time - I think - to the program to adjust the picture to the chosen dimension in pixels in GKrellM plugin ) ...

For example this adress works for me : http://www.katkam.ca/pic.aspx

OK, the old Flash hassle shows up in yet one more place - sure will be glad when we are finally rid of Flash.

I suppose it is theoretically possible to write a script to run a Flash webcam stream through a converter but I don't need it that badly.

Perhaps I can convince my son, just starting sophomore year as an IT major, to try it? It could make for an interesting learning experience.

Thanks.

How do I create an environment to compile the 32bit drivers and integrate them?!

Subject description: gtkam best app to get smartphone photos?

I can't get LH64 to access the photos on my Samsung Galaxy Nexus smartphone.

It doesn't have a removable sd-card so cable or wireless are the only ways to accomplish this.

Any suggestions, please?

Thanks - David

Is there an app to batch process - scale-down - a folder of images?

I have 88 jpeg photos ranging from approx. 1.5 - 2.8 megs in size (e.g. a 1.9 meg photo is 2592x1922 pixels).

I'd like to make a reduced version of all of them down to 800x600 for use on a Web page.

Suggestions, please?

Thanks - David

^peasyscale seems to be what you're looking for, though i don't know if it'll work on lighthouse.

PeasyScale loads OK and creates the peasyscale folder with a ".count" file but no scaled jpg image.

Thoughts, please?

Thanks - David

i've never used lighthouse, but i think i remember it as being roxless. could that have something to do with it? in the peasyscale thread is the following link:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?p=198011&sid=250a6d98b0926f07bc8721df0c8233c5#198011

that's what peasyscale was based on. you could try that. beyond that, sorry. no idea.

my mistake. for some reason i remembered it as having been built around spacefm. Embarassed

anyway, it appears the package i linked edoc to was built for 32 bit pups. as yet no report on whether the 64 bit version rcrsn51 built for fatdog works here.

I'm not sure if this is the correct place to post this or not...

I was actually just wondering if anyone knows how tazoc's health is doing. Lighthouse64 is one of my regular pups, and I was just curious about it's creator. Hope he's well, but haven't seen any activity from him, or heard any news.
