It might help if you gave a link so we could find out what Magic Jack is.

The magic jack website is here:-
http://www.magicjack.com
Someone asked about this in the Puppy Phone thread:-

It is a SIP VOIP phone adapter which just needs access to networking so should work easily. The PLUS version just plugs into your router anyway so you don't need to be running Puppy or any computer at all.

Maybe this will help in this thread. I do not use the service.

A downloadable pdf

created a pdf tutorial on how I was able to get the Magic Jack to work after six months of research and a great loss of some much needed rest. Please click the link below to view my tutorial on how to configure your Magic Jack for use on Linux. I would appreciate input on this and for others to verify my findings for extra assurance. Thanks.

I use a Linksys telephone adapter rather than "Magic Jack".
It connects direct to my router [which then connects to the internet via the modem]...
Doesn't need the PC running to function...
Or ANY OS [Puppy?]
Just needs the router and modem to be powered-on.

The quality of the "internet phone" setup [wireless handsets in use] isn't as good as the wired Virgin phone line.
I tried swapping the phones around [wired versus wireless phones], but it made no difference to the relative quality; anything connected to the wired phone line sounded better than whatever was connected to the web via the internet phone adapter and router and modem.
