Sub_title: is there an easy way to determine all installed libs?

is there any shell utility to determine all installed libraries\versions? and if ever there's a need to reinstall\upgrade the gcc compiler, is it ok to install it via ppm or do i have to open and drop it in the devx.sfs? sory for to many questions. just dont want to break my installed pup.

Hello Gherico- it's my belief most questions have at some point been both asked and answered.

For the compiler (gcc --help), it's:
Code:
gcc --version

Upgrading? Not sure..
