sound is working but the volume is not as loud as it should be. the volume countrol max value is really not able to be heard thru earbuds in a moving train, for example. no problem with a dell laptop. but i want the lenovo to work. how can i fix the low volume level to be louder?

just checking the obvious, have you checked the alsa mixer settings?

right click speaker icon, 'full window', max the settings there

besides that, i also tried to reinstall alsa. it appears to be the drivers don't give it enough volume
