irfanview grafics-viewer/converter

#1 Post by MU »

This program requires wine.

Download (900 kb):
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Graphics/irfanview-3.98.pup

If you prefer version 3.25 (580 kb):
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Graphics/irfanview-3.25.pup

Run it from the Dotpups-menu.

It has some nice features like batch-conversion or creation of panorama-pictures.
Very famous freeware-program in the Windows-world.

To open an image via comandline, use such a comand:
irfanview "/usr/share/backgrounds/puppywallpaper1024x768.jpg"
or
irfanview-3.25 "/usr/share/backgrounds/puppywallpaper1024x768.jpg"

Note, there is a native Linuxprogram as alternative:
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Graphics/xnview-1.70.pup (2.7 MB)

I uploaded the plugins for 3.98, too. They include for example jpeg2000-support.
Download (5.4 MB):
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Graphics/irfa ... lugins.pup

Info:
http://irfanview.de

Some of them might not work, like the mediaplayer-stuff, but I did not try that in detail.

I actually prefer the older IrfanView 3.25; its simpler menu structure lets me, for example, change from "Fit Window to Image" to "Fit Window/Image to Desktop" with only two mouseclicks, not three or four as in the later versions...and, visual effects are much quicker to test...

Do you have that?
If you send me the installer, I can make a dotpup tomorrow.
If you don't have that, it might be suffient to zip c:\program files\irfanview.
It seems not to use dlls in c:\windows.

I updated the irfanview-dotpup.
You now can pass pictures in Linux-notation, like
irfanview /usr/share/backgrounds/puppywallpaper1024x768.jpg

Like this you can use it as grafic-viewer in Rox for example.
