Subject description: Unable to send a Xdisplay from a Xclient where Puppy is the Xserver

I am an early user (2005?) still running Puppy 1.nn on several systems used as operator control consoles. Xdisplays are sent to these Puppy systems by an Xclient.

I am currently testing Puppy 5.1.1 hoping to upgrade these systems. I have been unable to successfully send an Xdisplay to Puppy's 5.1.1 Xserver from an Xclient (this has been pretty routine in the past). I have done most of the usual steps (xhost +, etc.) to no avail. I have tried with the window manager (jwm) stopped.

I have looked through the posts. Any help would be appreciated.

A followup: I have back pedaled to Puppy version 4.1. In this version during the live CD boot process one is able to choose between Xorg or Xvesa. After choosing Xvesa I allowed the boot up process to complete. After entering the appropriate network IP address, etc., and issuing the "xhost +" command I was able to easily send an Xdisplay to the Puppy Xserver from an Xclient.

Something to do with Xorg?
