The new $45. BeagleBoard Black http://beagleboard.org/ looks to have leapfrogged Raspberry Pi as to resources. Is there a Puppy that will operate on it & take advantage of the new resources? I could have bought the Raspberry Pi now today over counter or desk. Did not cost so much either but all the extra one need still came close to 800SEK with special HDMI cable and PowerSupply and special SD card instead of the many USB flash I already have. But I don't like that it is HDMI out I want VGA out to a standard monitor. Hope the Beagle Board Black survive so it also get imported to out small country

BeagleBoards of various kinds have been around for a little bit. I don't think they're about to fizzle. I agree with you about the HDMI vs VGA issue -- it shuts out the poor folk (like me) who don't have anything better than VGA. I won't buy a Pi until they put that in, as a matter of principle. _________________ Looking for some oddball hardware - an EZGo MiniPC. See here. Upup Raring on Atom/Poulsbo is my next system. Wow I love that text from you. So true. I have a HDMI TV now so I can use that for R Pie but then I have no way to look at tv and do computing at same time. I have some 4 LCD screens for VGA so what a waist of good hardware to not be able to use them. So true what you say. I trust it has to do with running HD movies them want to be able to do such and they are rich enough to have two TV with HDMI _________________ I'm a noob so I use Google Search of Puppy Forum |

I made a phone call to one of our biggest Web shop and them had still not added it to their stock of products. They had Raspberry Pi over the desk and it cost about the same. I can buy one today for some 630SEK which is roughly 73USD depending on daily exchanges rate changes 
I have enough money from pension to buy one such each month and I would not notice that loss of money .But I don't like that it is HDMI only for this one too. I do think it is a way better product than RPie though. I think I wait until there is something with VGA out. The tech guy at the web shop told me that is not likely to happen. he think HDMI is the coming standard so all VGA will go to trash bin he told me. And I have five of those and they give exellent picture for my poor eyes no need for HDMI here.

I had the same issue with HDMI, was lucky enough to find a cheap ex-corporate monitor with dvi input, hdmi>dvi cable for a few quid and all sorted I have a pi and have purchased for my kids too, hardly used it BUT it is opening the younger users to linux and that can be no bad thing will endeavour to use it more though
