Intel GMA-3650 video chip not recognized

#1 Post by barbarotico »

I tried to install puppy linux in my pc but I found that the video card is not recognized by the initial setup.

I have a Intel desktop Board D2550MUD2, Intel atom processor D2550, Graphic core GMA-3650 and 4-GB ram.

in the following web address I found that Intel released the driver for this video processor
https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=144445
But how to glue this driver to the setup image?

Dunno , Links seem already broken there .

You might need Xorg driver source and i915.ko .patch or source and devx_pup-version.sfs and kernelsource-current-pup.sfs .

There are huge amount of different kernels in Puppyland .

Maybe wait for a Pup*kernel-3.10.x or use

on that arch thread
the generic Xorg vesa driver .

Test and try Upup Raring. It has support for intel gma graphics as has PhatSlacko with 3.8 kernel and some other Slacko versions. 01micko knows better.

Upup Precise with 3.8 kernel also has support.

Official slacko 5.5 (PAE version) has ootb support. I think since February this year, any pup built by me or pemasu has the same support, upup-precise, upup-raring, slacko 5.5 (PAE), ThinSlacko and PHATSlacko (non-PAE and PAE respectively).
