Hello comcoco,

http://378e7e9c.ultrafiles.net/
I think you're talking about full edition ?
You can download it from the link above.

• Mate was updated to version 1.4.2;
• LibreOffice was updated to version 3.6.5;
• Totem 3.4.2 is the default video player;
• Pidgin 2.10.6 has been implemented;
• All multimedia codecs have been installed;
• Music, Pictures, and Videos thumbnails have been implemented.
• Vlc
• Lxde

Or you can download 01Micko's PHATslacko which offers more updated applications than lxpup.
And moreover it's lighter.

Slacko Problem

#3 Post by comcoco »

Thank you, jejy69!

I have downloaded Phatslacko Puppy. This is what I want to try. I lose the monitor when it is finished booting from the live CD. I have this problem with all Slacko Puppies I have tried. Other Puppy versions do not give me this problem.

What video card do you have? There are some options to try here.
If you boot to blackscreen:

* for intel cards:
i915.modeset=0
* ATI/AMD radeon cards:
radeon.modeset=0
* nvidia cards:
nouveau.modeset=0

Thanks for the information. I do not know what video card I have. How can I find this out? I have installed none. The only video is part of the board. This works well with other Puppies. However if I go to:

Menu>setup>setup puppy>wizard wizard>setting tab>system info>devices>monitor

I get a crash.

Can you help, please.

Run the command: lspci

Look for the entry Display Controller.

rcrsn51,

Thanks!

lspci got this on graphics:

VGA compatible controller: Intel Corp Cedarview Integrated Graphics Controller (rev 09)

and the following which is probably not graphics:

Host Bridge: Intel Corp Cedarview DRAM Controller (rev 03)

I will try to add:

puppy pfix=rami915.modeset=0

after stopping the boot of Slacko with an f2

I will let you know if this does any good.

Slkacko Problem

#9 Post by comcoco »

I tried stopping the Slacko boot with F2 and inserting:

puppy pfix=rami915.modeset=0

This still did not all me to boot to completion.

It is definitely the Cedarview board problem. I was able to boot Slacko 5.3.3, but it was not able to run FIMP 2.8.

Any other suggest to be able to get my Cedarview computers to run a Puppy version under which GIMP 2.8 will run?
