Subject description: I have installed versions of JRE but Openoffice Database can't find them

Using Puppy Precise from a USB thumb drive.

I have installed open office versions 3.2 and 3.3.0 SFS in combination with jre1-7.0-17.sfs or jre-1.6.0.20.pet and Base continues to state that I need to install jre...

Help - please

Earl

If you look in the openoffice preferences you should be able to tell it where to find java. Have you done that?
From memory I think you direct it to the Java bin directory and then it identifies the java install, telling you the version etc.

Just a suggestion: you can use OpenOffice 3.4.1 (DEB packages)
