Tannaroo- this: teamviewer --daemon start should fire it.

To autostart, the same as a script and placed in ~/Startup.

thanks semme - but can you kindly explain as I am quite new.

I presume enter into the console (teamviewer --daemon start) but how do autostart please?

I'm using a live multi-session CD.

many thanks

Correct, console (terminal or shell).

==

Open your file manager and navigate to /root (your ~/ or $HOME directory) >> Startup folder.

Rt-clk and select *new* >> script. Name it teamviewer_start.sh or so..

Now rt-clk the file and open as text >> insert: teamviewer --daemon start

.. below >> #!/bin/sh >> so it looks like what follows:

Code: Select all

#!/bin/sh
teamviewer --daemon start

With this in place, TV should fire during boot.

If she doesn't, we may need to adjust..

unfortunately, it didn't work.
when i typed in console, it came up with:

/etc/init.d/teamviewerd start
/opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/script/tvw_daemon: line 185: /etc/init.d/teamviewerd: No such file or directory
fail

any other ideas?

by the way, i like this idea of booting up TeamViewer on start-up. is it possible to have another script that will connect my GPRS modem automatically (i.e. rather than manually pressing connect when the start-up is finished, can this be automated)?

Ah, because TV's installed to /opt. Not a biggie but, I need to see how she's arranged..

OK, quickest way to get the daemon running >> one @ a time from a cmd shell:

Code: Select all

cp /opt/teamviewer8/tv_bin/teamviewerd /usr/sbin
ln -s /usr/sbin/teamviewerd /etc/init.d/teamviewerd
Using Pfind, make sure winbind.so is >= 3.0.25..

Then tell me what I wanna hear!

Auto GPRS? Yes!

thanks for that - i've had partial success.

teamviewer installs OK but when i try to connect the remote computer (which is this computer with precise puppy), the host computer cant connect.

in addition, when the remote computer was logged out of teamviewer (and remote computer) was shut down, the host computer still showed it as online?????

maybe this is a teamviewer fault or has something messed up with my puppy settings.

Are we still addressing TeamViewer8? Your response to Nilson or me?

Yes - sorry Semme.

I just realised your method as well - but i think it is version 2.4.5 as my directory is /usr/lib/pppd/2.4.5/winbind.so

so will look for a later version

Since Nilson offered a pkg, maybe easier for him to continue. Good luck.

Teamviewer 8 help

#12 Post by acefx1 »

After installing the .deb file from the official web site.

I tried a few of the things suggested in this post however the only thing that seemed to work for me was to type this command in at the prompt....

# teamviewer --daemon start

# teamviewer

It worked just fine...

By the way I am new kinda new to Puppy Linux and this form :D

Oh thank you for making a pet of Teamviewer 8

#15 Post by Pete22 »

nilsonmorales:

I have been using teamviewer since version 3.
But version 8 would not work for me on puppy because of some internal changes.
I had completely given up.

Today I had a reason to see if someone had solved the problem. And there was your pet.

This pet worked perfect!!!

A MILLION thanks. :D :D :D

I have installed your pet and now teamviewer is running, but when I am starting it for a first time it does not show ID and password - I have to close it and run it again to show ID and password. Anyway I have still a problem, because I can't connect from windows to puppy teamviewer with a given id. Did you manage to connect to your teamviewer ? Maybe puppy firewall is blocking connection ?

P.S connection from puppy (teamviewer linux) to windows is working.
I have tested connection from windows to puppy with firewall off and it's still not working
