What is a 'pager'?

#1 Post by pl3589 »

I've been playing with my JWM configuration, and I keep seeing references to a 'pager'.

What is a 'pager'

:D Hello,
In Linux you have multiple desktops.
The pager is the little boxes just right of the Menu/Start button,
which represents them graphically, allowing you to monitor their contents, and switch between them..
Close the Windows, and open your eyes, to a whole new world

JWM use the word 'pager' for what everyone else calls a 'desktop switcher' for switching between virtual desktops. In the wider world, though, a pager is the program 'more', 'less' or 'most' which allows you to scroll through long documents.
