How to Boot From a USB Drive in VirtualBox

#1 Post by s243a »

Howtogeek has an article on how to boot virtualbox from a USB drive.
http://www.howtogeek.com/187721/how-to- ... irtualbox/

It might be handy for anyone who wishes to work on their instillation/s of puppylinux and for some reason can't log out of another operating system.

I'm going to give it a try.

So I tried this. It boots up fine. However, when I try to install guest additions, a bunch of things succeed but at some point I get an IO error and then I can't read files on the file system.

I'm using Slaco64 with an encrypted save file.

insert USB pendrive before launching the virtual Machine

Don't forget to insert you USB pendrive before launching the virtual Machine, pendrive will be recognized as a CD sr0
Successful :
To launch iSO from my Windows Seven hard disk (sda2) and to join files included in the pendrive.

Luckless : I transfered ISO To pendrive, thinking that WMachine would launch it from there. Well that, it does not work.
