How to remove searchya infestation from Windows?

#1 Post by infromthepound »

can anyone help?
I have a "Doze box which I have to use daily.
Somehow it has got infested with Searchya, which has taken over all the browsers. in particular Opera which I normally use.
Has anyone any idea how to remove it?
I have tried all the free anti-malware I can find and they do not recognise it.
The only ones that do are try and pay ones (Not an option)
There are several methods on the web, which include hacking the registry, but it always returns
Thanks, John

Have you tried any of this?

Also:
Please note that on some computers these programs might be renamed or missing, search for any program developed by APN LLC or Bandoo Media Inc, and uninstall it from your computer.
You may need to go into "c:\program files" to find them.

Yes, thanks.
No luck though. I spent time tonight in the registry, and deleted 2 records.
As soon as I try to re-install Opera, it's back though

SOLVED!
Hijackthis found it eventually, after I had tried about every malware program I could find.
It was hiding in some obscure IE file (Where else), and Opera imports from IE at setup.
It's no wonder I stick to Fat Slacko where possible.
