Linux distros on Windows 8 are GO!

Some interesting reading....

The Linux Foundation is happy to announce that its Secure Boot System allows most PCs with pre-installed Windows 8 to boot Linux. It gets around the UEFI key requirement to permit the open-source kernel to get started.

Fascinating reading Jim. I've been wondering about this UEFI but haven't had much chance to read up on it where my online time each day is so very limited. I may be in the market for a computer in a few months and I've even wanted to steer away from a new model simply due to "secure boot" and find some older used model which hasn't been tinkered with. -sigh-

M$ forgets how they were taken to court for being a monopoly. I guess they were hoping that with all our problems in the USA the gov't would forget? And seems so they're correct. Sad... :(

Anyway, thanks again!

Cheers/Amicalement,
