Fascinating reading Jim. I've been wondering about this UEFI but haven't had much chance to read up on it where my online time each day is so very limited. I may be in the market for a computer in a few months and I've even wanted to steer away from a new model simply due to "secure boot" and find some older used model which hasn't been tinkered with. -sigh- M$ forgets how they were taken to court for being a monopoly. I guess they were hoping that with all our problems in the USA the gov't would forget? And seems so they're correct. Sad...
