Forum subsection with general info on .pets

Several times I have wanted to ask about .pets, but did not find the right place to post. I did post somewhere a couple of times in different places.

Let me be more clear: say, I am looking for a program that does this or that, but I am not aware if one exists, either in uncompiled form or as a .pet.

Rather I would like a "Looking for program" subsection, where I can list what I want the program specifically to do. There are tons of Linux programs, mainly with names that have little to do with their functions at first glance. Search engines don't always help either.

An example would be something like this post: http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewto ... 86&t=83937

How do you request a .pet for a .pet that already exists? Or rather, why?

Or request a .pet for a source code that you don't know exists or not?

It also goes against the guidelines.

This was just a suggestion.
.. and an existing solution.

example: Is there already a foo.pet?
mini-jaguar wrote:Or rather, why?
Because you do NOT know.

You really should name the name of the software that you require to get packaged.

I do not understand this. Please elaborate which of these lines is concerned. :)

The link you used as an example was replied to by me.
I never saw any answer to my reply and I assumed that I had answered your question to an extent.
Since I only run two emulators, an Atari one and DosBox, maybe the answer was not what you were looking for.
But to call members trolls who are trying to help alienates you from getting the help you are seeking.
There are already sections on the forum for requesting Pets/applications/games for that purpose.
You do not need to know the name of an application, You just have to say what you are looking for in what you expect from the application.
