#1 Post by cfrNube »

I am using Linux Mint 14 as my OS with no problems. I installed puppy Precise on my 2 gig usb and it keeps crashing.

You'll have to give us more than that to go on. What do you mean by "crashing?" Under what conditions does it happen? Etc.

Also: what system? Make and model at least, any hardware specs you can give us makes things even easier.

Which version number of Precise are you using?
If it's older than Precise 5.5, be sure to also specify the build:
regular or retro

Laptop: Satellite L455d-S5976

Processor: AMD Sempron SI-42

HDD: 250 gig.

Memory: 2 gig.

When using Puppy (running from USB after about 15 minutes the computer just powers off. I think it is overheating the CPU.

I use Linux Mint 14 with no problems.

Sorry, Precise Puppy 5.5. Don't know what build. I am new to Linux so I don't even know how to find that information.

hey nube

I had a similar issue with my son's acer, would over heat also (faster than yours)

turned out to be a conflict with the graphics, it had switchable graphics which had to be disabled in the bios, have a quick look and see if something similar

if nothing there try the propriety graphics driver from the ppm (install)

:)
