Disable Shading in JWM from v667 on

#1 Post by ozsouth »

For the fumble-fingered of us, Joe W, the creator of JWM has allowed shading to be disabled. No more 'disappearing apps' should you accidently scroll titlebars.

I thought you might like to know that I added the ability to disable shading in JWM as of snapshot 667. It's possible to disable shading on a window group basis, but it's also possible to completely disable it by adding:

<Group>
<Option>noshade</Option>
</Group>

to your configuration.

8) ... Joe has been following the slacko thread and probably saw your comment. I'll package up 667 soon.

Thanks, Mick. I actually emailed Joe on the off chance & he was only too willing to help. Already up to 668. Hope you're staying dry.

precise uses the standard jwm 2.1, aka jwm-574~

to use the extra features for later jwm's you need to install the pets from my thread, and with v750+ there is a new jwmconfig2 also required to be installed which can also be found in my jwm thread.

and yes, the later do work in precise, as long as you do both steps.

I managed to find your thread (even though, strangely, I'm told I'm 'not authorised' to view your profile :-) ) and installed the latest JWM and jwmconfig from page 3. I copied the above command into .jwmrc but shading is still possible in my version of Precise.

Please can you let me know what to do next? Many thanks.
