Through the kind direction in the PuppyLinux forum:
http://murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic. ... 0f6a14ded0
I was able to install and use an HP OfficeJet 6600 e-All-in-One printer I just purchased with Puppylinux Lupu 5.28. The directions are in the forum message set, but included in directions for other printer types. My purpose is to offer focus on this particular flavor of Puppylinux and this particular HP printer model.
First your need to install the following pets and make a symlink to a lib file. These files are gathered together at a dropbox site:
https://www.dropbox.com/sh/hrjpuqccx3vq7lz/-JAxv9M4AF
Then make a symlink by clicking the File icon on your desktop.
Click the green arrow
Click lib directory
navigate to libcrypto.so.0.9.8
right click this file
in the menu click : link
in the window replace 0.9.8 with 1.0.0
then click symlink button
When you are finished with this process, I usually reboot puppylinux, just a preference on my part.
Open up your browser: and enter localhost:631 to open Cups 1.4.3
Click : Adding Printers and Classes
Click : Find New Printer
It will be listed, and his scroll down to the appropriate file
HP Officejet 6600
When this process is complete, click the Home button in Cups 1.4.3
On this screen click Printers
From the list select the HP OfficeJet 6600
Click Maintenance
In that menu click: Print Test Page
In the Grapics menu Peasyscan will be installed for scanning functions.
I have uploaded several screen shots of this process as a visual guide to augment this text.

Re: Lupu 5.28 and HP Officejet 6600 e-All-in-One printer
After Peasyscan was internationalized, it stopped working properly in Lupu 528. You need the attachment below. I believe that the new updated Lupus have fixed this.ndujoe1 wrote:In the Grapics menu Peasyscan will be installed for scanning functions..
