HOWTO Samsung SCX-4100 printer/scanner in 5.4 puppies

I didn't expect it but both printer and scanner do work. Tested in Slacko and Precise Puppy 5.4.

Contrarily to what advised elsewhere in these forums, I installed the Samsung Linux Unified Driver. I'm sorry I am unable to determine which version, it's one that was sitting in the home of my ubuntu install. If needed, I can attach it here.
This made the scanner work with Xsane, but not the printer.

For printer, I installed the samsung_mono-4.00.35.pet from http://208.109.22.214/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=66614
Opened CUPS in browser and selected the Samsung SCX-4x26 Series driver. Works, seems the best among some I tried.

Can't assure in any way that this will work on your setup and won't damage anything; works for me, ymmv as usual.

Thanks for testing this. As with the samsung_mono-4.00.35.pet for printing, I have pulled the scanning components out of the Unified Driver and packaged them in a separate PET. If you want to test it, please send me a PM.

[Edit] The Samsung scanner drivers are now posted here.
