Disc partitioning: how to enlarge my Ext3 partition?

Hi there, I'm trying to increase the size of the ext3 partition on my hard disc. I have the space, my hard disc is as follows:
sda1 - 1Gib linux-swap
sda2 - 11.75Gib ntfs - flagged as boot
sda3 - ext3 1.99Gi /initrd/mnt/dev_save root - (there's 400Mib free in this partition)
sda4 - 3.92Gib extended
sda5 - 3.92Gib ext3 - I set this up in an effort to extend my ext3 facility - sda5 is a sub partition to sda4, I'm not sure how that hapenned, it wasn't my intent.

sda 1 and sda3 have a padlock symbol against them showing they are locked. Is it possible to unlock sda3 so I can enlarge the 1.99Gib partition up to include the 3.92Gib sda4/5 partition to make it 5.91Gib. I have tried to unmount sda3 which works but the partition remains locked.

Boot puppy from LiveCD and use pfix=ram boot options.
Your partitions will be unlocked.

Gparted live CD

For partitioning I would suggest you use the Gparted live CD that you can get from here.
You can download a free version to make your own Gparted live CD.
It is up to date and specifically made to run Gparted.

After you load gparted, booted in ram as indicated above, so nothing will be locked. Then in this order, delete partitions sda5(first) and sda4(second) and last, resize sda3 to include all available space. There should be no problem unless you have a lot of data on sda5 that you can't relocate.
