"shockwave flash" installed but website says "no flash"

#1 Post by hanzf »

Hello,

I run firefox 37.0.2 with the "shockwave flash 11.2.202.535" plugin, but this website:
http://learn.arabiconline.eu/entry-level-arabic/
says there is no flash player and asks me to install.
Can someone tell me what's wrong here? Is this a firefox issue?

thank you[/url]

Hanz, sounds like you have an active site blocker in place.

Are you aware that Pup comes with a built in ad blocker?

You're running which add-ons?

Modified hosts file?

Any chance it works with another browser, possibly Chrome?

My guess is that it needs Flash 12 or higher, but Adobe stopped supporting Firefox in Linux except version 11.x (security updates only). You can use PPAPI version of Flash 19 from Chrome in Firefox using wrappers like Fresh Player but it's messy, better to ditch Flash and report issue to website admins to fix :) and only visit website after/if they fix compatibility
