Problem to keep usernames and passwords

#106 Post by ASRI éducation »

Slimboat (1.48 / 1.49 / 1.50) does not keep usernames and passwords.
Example: at each browser restart, I have to write username and password used for Murga forum.

Do you have the same problem?

I do not have the same problem. You might want to try Tools<Options<Privacy. You might have something ticked that prevents you from keeping yourself logged in.

I do. In both Dpup wheezy 3.5.2.11 and Lucid 528.006 sulu 002.

I use save files and hove found ifI install first then both palemoon and slimboat will save settings. But if I use a save file of approx 1.3 gig size and install slimboat last it will not save settings.

HTML5

#110 Post by chapchap70 »

Are you guys able to watch/stream HTML5 videos with Slimboat? I am able to watch flash but not HTML5.

HTML5 Video: http://roaming-initiative.com/mediagobl ... -vacuumed/

If I try to watch the above video with Slimboat, I get an error stating something to the effect that your browser doesn't support HTML5 videos; get a modern browser.

I'll try that a little later. I just installed Slimboat in a completely new build using LX wheezy and so far I haven't had any issues with saving settings, etc. LXW uses the same kernel as Dpup Wheezy but seems to be more stable. Go figure

This forces me to use a more resource hungry (Firefox).
Otherwise, Slimboat is still my favorite browser.

Version 1.1.53 repacked and uploaded as .pet and .sfs
Version for Wary or Racy (with its own glibc upgrade) also available.

This has some extra security features such as the option to enable/disable SSL3.

I noticed that the search engine website startpage.com did not load in the previous version but it is fixed in this one.

Development of SlimBoat browser appears to have ended so it looks like 1.1.54 will be the last version. As time passes, we can expect certain websites and features to stop working. It is always a good idea to have more than one browser. Other "mainstream" browsers can easily be installed in /mnt/home ouside of my savefile and fired up if I need them. For me, SlimBoat remains the one that I use the most on low RAM machines and I reckon it will be useful for some time yet.

The developers (FlashPeak) have now diverted all their efforts into their SlimJet browser which is based on Chromium/Blink engine.
