FireFox 15 latest or is it FF18 that is latest? [Solved]

On Google’s V8 benchmark, Firefox 15 gets a score of 8474, and Firefox 17 gets a score of 9511. Firefox 18, however, gets a score of 10188, making it 7% faster than Firefox 17, and 20% faster than Firefox 15.

We still have a long way to go: over the next few months, now with our fancy new architecture in place, we’ll continue to hammer on major benchmarks and real-world applications.
When I look in Help on my FF15 it says it is updated.

So when they talk aboit FF16 and FF17 and FF18
then all of these are test versions that is not official yet?
Alpha or Beta and not final versions? Work in progress
or what to refer to?

But AFAIK I can not use FF18 and FF15 in same Lupu258-005
I maybe can crate a new version of Lupu and in that one use FF18
from some nightly build download?

Guys I am too dense to get what is going on. Help me sort it out.
Why worry FF15 work okay does it not?

Hi nooby. FF 15.0.1 is the latest, I believe. Those others must be destined for next month's releases.

Agreed, FF seems to work really well now compared with just a year or two back.

Firefox is slow -- and all three browsers are now playing with the version numbers to see who can update the fastest. Makes no sense whatsoever, which I believe is rather typical for modern marketing strategies -- if not an outright requirement!

I can't say much to Firefox; I switched to Chrome / Chromium some time ago. I'm on version 23,778.1

...

Yes.
Test versions put out so people can do the job of finding problems and reporting.
Latest stable version of Firefox is 15.0.1 as of today.
The things they do not tell you, are usually the clue to solving the problem.
When I was a kid I wanted to be older.... This is not what I expected
