Audio not detected on Thinkpad 520 Laptop

I am using Thinkpad laptop T520 with SmartAudio Soundcard. Puppy details are :

Version : 528 (Lucid)
Audio Driver : Conexant 20672

I have tried the various options recommended on other forums (like ALSA configuration ) but could not succeed. It shows no drier installed. I am newbie. Please help

@cthisbear, Thanks for reply. Are you saying i should install derivative of Puppy Linux and use it instead of original one? Is there any patch available such that i can use my original installation of linux?

i would try to install alsa drivers-1.0.24 compiled by playdays.
