Picasa 3 won't load all the way in Lucid 5.28

#1 Post by cooltechkathy »

I am trying to use Picasa 3 under puppy exprimo and using it. It starts to load and then collapses into an icon on the desktop at the bottom of the screen.
Any ideas? Is it a memory problem or what? I have a Dell xps m1210 laptop and have run many puplets ok. Have a large save file. Other apps working.
Only 1 mb ram and swapfile.

hello

Picasa has been deprecated on Linux
On April 20, 2012 Google announced that they were deprecating Picasa for Linux and will no longer maintain it on that operating system.[10]

Previous version ran under Wine (windows emulator).

---

You could try to run Picasa from the command line and see if any errors are reported?

Maybe a screenshot would be helpful.

---

What features of Picasa do you need?

Try running the latest windows version of Picasa under wine. Some versions of wine have more compatibility. I always found v1 was the best for my windows software, especially with Photoscape & Photoshop.
