How Do I Add PekWM to SwitchWM Menu?

I just don't feel at home unless I can use PekWM. I prefer it's lightness and configuratons to Openbox; etc.

I was thinking about doing a little remodeling but I don't know how to add or remove WMs from the SwitchWM app.

Edit: There is actually a new version of PekWM coming out. I might compile it. :D

Hey Gnuxo.

I downloaded Aragon's build of PekWM from http://www.murga-linux.com/puppy/viewtopic.php?t=63103
It's quite nice WM indeed; I've never tried it before...

Anyway, by "SwitchWM" you mean "WM Swicher" app under Desktop submenu, right?
If so, I have modified wmswitcher script for PekWM and it seems to work fine in my Lupu so far.

Replace (or better backup first) the original wmswitcher script in /usr/sbin with the attached one (remove fake .gz extension).

Then modify hidden /root/.config/bgchoice file, by adding, for instance:

Code: Select all

pekwm)BGIMAGE="default.png"
 ;;
right before this line:

Code: Select all

*) BGIMAGE="default.jpg"
It's necessary only if you'd like to have individual background for each WM.

Also, you can download (and perhaps crop/resize, because it's a bit too big) PekWM logo from their site: http://pekwm.org/ and save it as pekwm_logo.png in /usr/share/pixmaps.

That's all and I hope it helps. 8)

Greetings!

I'm glad you like PekWM. I'm definitely waiting for version 1.15 to reach final.
RC1 recently came out, so once it does I'll compile that. Unless someone else wants.
