(SOLVED!) Can't find .sfs file 9live CD |
|
(SOLVED) I burned Slacko 5.3.3.1 alpha to a CD. It booted vmlinuz and initrd, but then I got the message that the .sfs. file couldn't be found. I looked, and there it was on the CD. What am I doing wrong?
I have two CD players, internal and external. I was trying to boot from the external one, which apparently the program couldn't find. Strange, because that has not happened before as I tried live CD's.
I'm sorry to have intruded prematurely; I should have investigated further.

I have made the transmission pet smaller by upxing the binaries and removing the icon cache file, seems to work ok.
Download <-- transmission-2.51-i486-supx.pet ~1.4M
I don't know how to enable magnet protocol in seamonkey ootb (working on it, bearing in mind I dislike setting up a profile in /root) but it's pretty easy to set up in a running seamonkey/firefox, see here.
I tried with aria2 but it's a bit finicky to get set up, never mind.

Any chance of a reply to my post, or is it just lost in another multi-page thread on this server that's impossible to search?

lxterminal is nice, in the repo (use search box), as for Alpine, if the one in the repo doesn't suit try a search with puppy in the string in your favourite search engine, also there are numerous puppy optimised search engines floating around the forum. Failing that put in a request in the requests section. | Quote: | Any chance of a reply to my post, or is it just lost in another multi-page thread on this server that's impossible to search?

Has anyone else noticed this?
I was downloading Alpha1 of Puppi Sap6 and I could not detect my hard drive - even when mounted.
. . . wait a minute this could be because Slacko moved its save file to another partition - the only reason for that? Could be a nearly full HD?
Mick glad you are getting a slice of the Raspberry action
- hopefully you will have a great base
OK just reporting in. Otherwise Slacko working OK . . .

Another Great Job - but could use old SaveFile |
|
Hi 01micko,
Another great job. So far I've only run into one hitch. Dl & unpacked into Slacko directory with SaveFile created in some previous incarnation. Rebooted. Loaded OK, but none of the wireless apps recognized my wireless adapter. Removed SaveFile from Slacko directory. Rebooted and wireless worked. Posting from it now. Will explore some more.

The Help is not working in mtPaint.
This pet has /usr/share/mtpaint/mtpaint_handbook... plus /root/.mtpaint to tell it where the docs are (I could see no other way to do so). The "docs" are in fact just an index.html to use the online docs.

Any chance for a quick script-fix-mtpaint to get it working or must we wait until the next release?
>>>---Indian------>
EDIT: From the above, Slacko-5.3.3.1 was done with an 'UPGRADE' to Slacko-5.3.3
It appears now after more testing, and a fresh pfix=ram install that mtpaint works fine!
As for the UPGRADE.. there are more issues... GNOMEplayer doesn't work anymore as well as the mtpaint, was going to test for more problems (which I'm sure there are) but with so many files and programs installed, it isn't worth the effort!
Recommendation: Don't UPGRADE... do a fresh install!
