Is there a pet for a random Slideshow screensaver? |
|
Hello puppy friends!
I am setting up my sister's computer with puppy linux. Saluki to be exact.
She would like a random slideshow screensaver like she had on windose.
I don't see one that will work in the new puppies.
Is there a new one I could use?
Hopeful,
Pete

I don't know about Saluki, but Mu's PuppyBasicScreensaver03 works fine in Racy 5.2.2.
If you want to give it a try, install these three .pets:
http://distro.ibiblio.org/puppylinux/pet_packages-4/puppybasic-2.5b.pet
http://dotpups.de/dotpups/Games/SDL-1.2.9.pet
PuppyBasicScreensaver03.pet
In Racy, it is started from:
Menu -> Desktop -> Puppy Screensaver Setup
Choose "test screensaver". If the test works for you, you can then choose "start saver".
When it is running, to get back to your desktop press Esc or 'q'.
Here is Mu's post for the current version:

More information is available in the post that described the previous version:

thanks for the reply! |

I have been ill, so I just saw this.
Its likely to work because Saluki started out as Racy's litter mate.
I will give this a try and report back.

You are welcome. I'm glad to hear that it works in Saluki. It's good to know that Mu's screensaver is still chugging along in new Puppies!
(Sorry for my delay in responding: I've was out of town for awhile.)
