Hi, looking for a a4-scanner (scanner only - no printer etc.) which works in puppy. Need to create pdf's from the scan. So which model to choose and what software? |

Hi, Okay, I'll answer the hardware side of the queston- Puppy uses xsane/peasyscan (built-in on most Puppy versions) to access scanners, these are front-ends for sane. Canon makes a line of basic scanner-only units called LiDE. Puppy has a driver for it here. But it has only been confirmed to work with a few models. LiDE units will scan A4. Regarding A4, the latest version of Peasyscan has support for scanning A4 documents and saving to A4 PDFs. |

I know that Lupu 5.28 had no trouble reading my old Epson (I think that in general, Epson products are well supported by Linux and vice-versa). I'll have to try Peasyscan on it. I've only scanned to JPG so far. _________________ Wellminded Search Add swapfile |
