AbiWord 2.9.1 regression from 2.9.0 loading .docs

#1 Post by darkcity »

Hi all

The AbiWord version supplied with Slacko seems especially flawed when loading .doc

The attached docs were emailed to me by different sources.

There are two problems (possibly related)-

-numbering is missing and all line feeds missing
-pages limited to one, even though more information is present

The difference can be seen in the screenshot of 2.9.0 and 2.9.1

----
Therefore I think Slacko should revert to 2.9.0

Anyone else had similar troubles?

From Hubert Figuière
2.9.1 is an outdate *development* version. If you distro is shipping it, they
they are doing it doubly wrongly..
...

...
2.8.6 is the LAST stable release. Anything in 2.9 series is development,
therefor full of bugs. Don't be like Ubuntu.

Libwv was the culprit last time I built Abiword... Had to revert to a fairly old version. That was in 2.8.6, but it would apply to testing too since it is not specific to Abiword, but a dependency
