How about Puppy for the Smartphones?

#1 Post by mikeslr »

I think it's been suggested before, by me if nobody else.
Perhaps Ubuntu was listening:
http://news.cnet.com/8301-1035_3-574243 ... ne-ubuntu/
But Puppy could do as well or better: a full desktop when plugged into a dock & a full desktop when not.
For the tech savy, see also http://androlinux.com/android-ubuntu-de ... n-android/, and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=udc7aLd9Ig4.

P.S., If rebuilding an adroid OS is necessary for your phone, Android_sdk, can be run from /mnt/home in Precise, Lupu and perhaps other Pups.

Moderators, feel free to move this post to Projects or elsewhere.

Because Ubuntu is so lean, the entire Ubuntu software stack only takes up about 2GB, and that includes apps for e-mail, Web browsing, photo editing, music, and other basic stuff.
Do you know a good gtkdialog program? Please post a link here
