Subject description: what do I do with .tar.bz2

Hi all,

I've started using Thunderbird for various reasons, and grabbed the one from PPM. It set up really quickly and I'm getting used to it all. It is working really well with multiple email accounts.

However, the PPM version is Thunderbird 3.1.20 which is no longer supported, and an update screen continues to popup. When I download the suggested update, I end up with an 18mb file "thunderbird-12.0.1.tar.bz2". I can extract all this with XArchiver, but how do I make it active?

I can't find anything on the forum for this specific issue. Please forgive me if I've missed something there.

I'm using Lucid528.004 frugal with Fluxbox on a Dell Latitude D630.

Thanks for any help you may have.

Bones
