On the Canon site, the drivers are only available for Debian or RedHat.
I was disappointed not to install my printer on Puppy.
Then I try to use the Debian drivers, and, as advocated by Canon, installing the "cndrvcups-common_2.20-1_i386.deb", then "cndrvcups-UFr2-uk_2.20-1_i386.deb". Then I used the shortcut menu to access CUPS and I followed the instructions to add my CUPS printer. The printer appears in the connection USB ,and the file "CNCUPSMF4390ZK.ppd" is normally located in "/ usr / share / cups / model".
Yes, these Canon laser printers that use the UFR driver can be installed just by clicking on the DEB packages. Most drivers cannot be installed this easily in Puppy.
Have you got the scanner working? If you are running Lucid Puppy, you may need the pixma-backend-qrky-1.0.21.pet from here. However, Slacko and Wary should auto-detect your scanner.
