After installation, I tried starting it from the browser with this as it should:
Code: Select all
#chromium-browser
So further I checked the directory "usr/bin" which would hold any files or symlinks which could open the chromium from the terminal, but i didn't found any.
Unlike firefox which has a "firefox" file in "usr/lib/firefox-17xx" in directory in application/x-executable format chromimum doesn't have that. So I can't make a symlink to bin.
I wanted it in "usr/bin" because i wanted to run chromium as spot by editing the .spot-status file in my root folder by adding the lines
Code: Select all
chromium-browser=false
Now I am assuming here that it only works if the name I mention spot-status file is in usr/bin directory as whenever i put a application name in .spot-status file and then checked it on login and security manager window the symlink or the file is replaced by shell script which runs the respective application as the user spot. and plus adding the respective privilages to the access certain directory such as "tmp" etc, I don't know as I didn't understood the script exactly nor given my time much to understand it as i don't need to for now.
So how could i chromium so it could run from terminal. ?
I tried tracking the process , as in from the file it runs from Pprocess application, I found these three:
Code: Select all
usr/lib/chromium/chrome --usr-data-dir=/root/.chromium_dir/ --enable-plugins
usr/lib/chromium/chrome --usr-data-dir=/root/.chromium_dir/ --enable-plugins
usr/lib/chromium/chrome --type=zygote --usr-data-dir=/root/.chromium_dir/
anyone help ?
