Seamonkey automatic update Subject description: 2.0.11 automatically updated to 2.8 |
|
I have been running Puppy 5.2.5 with Seamonkey 2.0.11. Today when I booted, Seamonkey automatically updated to 2.8. The same browser on another os does not update?
Cheers

It could have something to do with the update settings on "the other OS'" version of Seamonkey (Preferences... > Select 'Software Installation' under the 'Advanced' category in the left-hand pane of the Preferences window. The second set of options will allow you to control when SM checks for updates to the browser, and how it'll behave if it does, and if it finds any.)
The latest version is 2.9.1, though.

Running Lupu 5.2.8-005 and have SeaMonkey 2.8 from PPM. Have the automatic updates disabled in the preferences but when I clicked to manually update it went from 2.8 to 2.9.1 and it all seems to be OK.
I think I read somewhere that 01micko compiles his with the updates disabled and looking in Slacko 5.3.2.9 the option does not appear to be there to update SeaMonkey 2.9 at all. In some instances updates can cause a problem.
This is for SeaMonkey itself of course. Updates for add-ons are there and I allow those automatically.

Thanks for the replies, that particular os is Vector classic and the configuration is the same. 2.8 may update further, I don't know yet.
Cheers
