Fast Filesearch - right click option |
|
Here is a fast way to find a file in a folder or a
partition. It has been localised using Zigbert's method.
Instructions: After installation of pet package, just right click on a
folder or partiition and a small window will show (see image)
You can find a file quickly. A minimum of 3 characters needs to
be entered.
Some restrictions:
1) YAD needs to be installed. Most recent versions
of Puppy have this. If you don't have it , it can be installed.

2) I've found that when searching a partition there is
a strange bug. Words like gtkdialog, gtk, dia, and log can't be found
on a partition but can if a folder is searched. I don't
understand why
Thanks to Geoffrey for telling me about the script.

Don,
I installed rox in Saluki and added this, I'm not sure what you mean by | Quote: | I've found that when searching a partition there is

gtkdialog, gtk, dia, and log work for me on a mounted partition, is this what you mean, see image, or is there a difference with rox in Saluki?
Well I suppose these are really seen as directories not actual mount points

That's strange!! I've tested it on several puppies
and it behaves the same way each time.
I'm testing on an IBM Thinkcentre M52
It has a rather odd arrangement of harddrives
one SATA and the other PATA
But it is a good computer
I have a couple of others that I can test on.
