I am little slow today. Could someone elaborate more...what upup is missing ?
Hi pemasu

You need to go one level deeper - click on "Wired or Wireless LAN" button to see only sns and netwiz offered as alternatives....

Thanks

Hmm...the previous amixer - osd_cat code works for me.

And your new amixer code works also...

Code: Select all

# volup
bash: volup: command not found
# voldown
bash: voldown: command not found
# volmute
bash: volmute: command not found

Just deleted the old savefile and reinstalled fugal 5.3.3.2 again. I see that now the Americas folder is included in the drop down, so apologies for not seeing that earlier.

Note that SNS is selected so that is proper. Click on Frisbee on that screen and report result.

Yep. When testing and the base differs from the previous one....best thing is to test without previous savefile.

Previous savefile might disturb the result and bogie bug reports are possible.

About you tube.
I believe the report meant that the youtube videos does not play. You will need to install flashplayer.

In menu > internet > Getflash Install Flashplayer helps....
If the flashplayer has been installed....and the videos does not play...it can be that you have too old comp for newest flashplayer and you need to reinstall older version which still works....
Also...it can be that Firefox disables too old flashplayers as security measure....

Download link: http://bkhome.org/blog/?viewDetailed=02781

Noticed...the getflash menu icon is missing. Added now.

Yes. Peebee and 01micko were correct. It was connectwizard_2nd script which was not updated to have Frisbee.
I edited the slacko version to work.

Install the pet and test.

Edit needed to make wl load at 1st boot

#176 Post by peebee »

Hi pemasu

rerwin has advised that this edit of /etc/rc.d/MODULESCONFIG which is in the pinstall for the Broadcom pet has not made it into the iso:

Code: Select all

# put the ssb:wl preference into MODULESCONFIG if it isn't already there
 grep -q ' ssb:wl ' etc/rc.d/MODULESCONFIG \
 || sed -i -e "s/^PREFLIST='[^']*/&ssb:wl /" etc/rc.d/MODULESCONFIG
The edit changes this line which as you can see in precise 5.3.3.2 does not have the change applied:
PREFLIST=' 8139cp:8139too rtl8180:r8180 rtl8187:r8187 rt2500usb:rt73usb orinoco_nortel:hostap_plx orinoco_plx:hostap_plx orinoco_tmd:hostap_plx orinoco_pci:hostap_pci bcm43xx:ssb prism54:p54pci tulip:dmfe option:hso hcfpcihw:hsfpcibasic2 cdc_acm:dgcusbdcp slamr:snd_intel8x0m:snd_via82xx_modem '
He has also suggested that I should patch the Broadcom source to change eth% to wlan% but I think it is best to keep the edits to the Broadcom source to the minimum - but if you would like me to make this change then I can do so.

Do you think people will be confused by the WL driver creating eth% instead of wlan% ?

Do all other wireless drivers use wlan% ???? I only have experience of b43 and wl.

Cheers

Thanks Peebee. I remember now that hack. I think I created it manually to dpups.

About eth versus wlan. I have seen several reports when wireless has been recognized as eth and not as wlan as it should.
They have been more as embarrassed than concerned.

But of course it would help if there is no reason to be confused.

I think it wont hurt to test the wlan patched source. I will build it with it and if it wont work as expected....we get reports.

This is still very experimental stage. Non working stuff is expected and people know that.

I dont easily use those broadcom like packaged pets with woof. I am not that skilled to recognize woof non-compliant parts and using those pets have many times proved to be non-compliant. Also some coders use: exit or exit 0 command in own row and it leads to woof pinstall.sh execution to be stopped. I have had non working bash once due to that. It wasnt nice.

So...I am very....very....careful when I put a pet to the woof....which has been created like rerwin has created it.

No GLX for me yet, and afraid to try other puppy pets for it. Any chance something like Xorg_High-1.1-Lucid.pet will be available? (worked well for this comp's new Intel graphics in Lupu 5.28 v5).

I would like to try some traditionally difficult CAD apps in Wine, and that needs GLX.

Have you run xorgwizard in console state and choosed the appropriate driver which handles acceleration.
I had probably vesa driver as preselected and I did need to run xorgwizard and choose intel driver.

Quite an honour, pemasu, thanks! :D

Have you tailored them so they do not interfere with BK's scripts? I noticed you do not have the "truncate" utility in the package, which is good because petget uses its own "truncate".

Thanks in advance for your reply.
